If you are here, you have probably experienced health concerns that have lead you to try anything and everything you can to eliminate them! You are not alone! Nobody wants to be walking around with symptoms of discomfort, pain, anxiety or depression, high blood pressure, diabetes, weight gain, poor digestion, or any symptom for that matter. Our first instinct is to GET RID OF IT! And we will do just about anything to make that happen.
Because of the demand for the “quick fix”, our health care system has evolved into a “Band-Aid” approach system. Take this and as long as the symptom goes away, everything is better. Right? I wish I could say it was this easy! But this is the farthest from the truth. Symptoms are your body’s way of telling you that something is out of balance. If you just cover it up, without investigating why it exists in the first place, you are potentially doing significant harm to your body. Medications, and even supplements can cover up the only message your body was using to communicate with you. Then what? Well, the underlying cause of imbalance is still not corrected. As a result, you may present with other symptoms or, the medication will cause a side effect, resulting in the need for yet another medication. It is a viscous cycle of feeding an imbalanced system!
So, what is the solution? Two people with the same symptom can walk into my office, but will leave with two completely different treatment plans. Why is that? Because you are not your symptom! You are unique and there are thousands of different ways that your body can present with symptoms. Is it related to hormonal imbalance, poor digestion, inflammation, poor immune function, and environmental concerns such as chemicals, heavy metals, or allergens? The solution: find out what is causing your symptoms. And then peel back layers of dysfunction, so that your body will regain its innate ability to heal itself.
What Is Health? WELLNESS
- Balance in the body. This is done through eating nourishing foods, drinking clean water, movement, rest and using building blocks for your own body, to ensure it is functioning at the highest level possible, biochemically (i.e.: nutrients or detoxification).
- Balance in the mind. You may have heard the saying, “You are what you THINK”. Your thoughts really do create your life and affect your physical body. So, create change in your mind using positive thinking, meditation/prayer, The LifeLine Technique, “A Complaint Free World”, or other tools.
- Balance in the spirit. Spiritual balance allows for life to flow with grace and ease. Find a practice that connects you in a spiritual way, such as prayer or meditation, spending quiet time outdoors or join a spiritual group/church. You will notice, positive thoughts come easier and you want to do the things that nourish your body as a result.
